Learn more about Edward Ruthven in the photographer portfolio

Edward Ruthven

I initially started photography at the age of 10, using a totally manual film camera. At that time, I preferred doing macro type photography.

For many years I took on photography haphazardly. I only did a number of traditional style weddings in this period. It was only years later that I started building my photographer portfolio.

In this time, I also spent a number of years developing my own photos in a darkroom. This darkroom was one that my parents had built for their own photography.

In the meantime, I have switched from film photography to digital photography. This enabled me to greatly expanded my abilities to produce greater captured moments.

My Journey towards my photographer portfolio

For a small period of time I started doing a lot of texture style photography which till today I love. I then moved on to landscape photography especially seascapes.

A few years ago, I moved on to the alternative action photography scene which I still do in my spare time today. As I love the close nit communities and their special ways of incorporating you into their circles. This is where I started with the love of people photography and naturally gravitated towards wedding photography.

After belonging to a photographic club for years I found that my photography skills had hit a ceiling. At that stage I joined a great photographic training company that really assisted me in expanding my horizon, which is today ever expanding.

I constantly study up on new techniques and technologies to expand other possibilities in the photographic realm. I constantly use my unique analytical and logical processing to make all this work towards producing the best and most unique captured moments.

My whole journey has enabled me to build my photographer portfolio.

My Specialities

When it comes to capturing the moment, we know how important it is to do so in the best way possible.

Whether we are taking photos of individuals or large groups, I always take the time to consider lighting, composition. Also considering other key factors that can influence the quality of our photos.

I also recognize that each event has its own unique set of needs and requests, which is why I am happy to accommodate individual preferences whenever possible.
