A Wedding Anniversary Rememberance written by an old friend of mine.

My wife and I will soon be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. That now brings me the point of “What is your Wedding Anniversary Remembrance”.

The only reason I remember my wife’s wedding dress is due to the fact that she has it. But I can’t clearly remember in my mind her in the dress.

Ceremony

Our ceremony in the church I am sure had lovely flowers, I think Lily’s decorating the isles. The Center bouquets I am sure were just as lovely at the reception but I cannot recall what they consisted of.

I am sure the food was excellent because I usually remember bad food as I would talk about it often. But what it was clearly departs any of my recollection.

Reception

I assume the table layouts must have been really good. And the people that attended were possibly close friends of mine and / or my family. But for the life of me I have lost track of those friend’s and cannot remember who was there.

The speeches must have been good but I cannot remember them or who made them. I think the car we used for the wedding, was it my old battered car, or was it something much more appealing.

And then it dawned on me but we do have a wedding album to remind me.

Ah yes, the wedding album that I now remember being put together by ourselves from printed photos. Those photos that an inept photographer (my memory is always good towards bad service) took of the day.

Maybe some people are lucky nowadays as lots of people use cell phones to take photos that you could use. But it will take a lot of begging to get them to remember to send them to you.

Past History

Our wedding took place in the days of film and we were not blessed enough to have family and friends take additional photos. For us and many other unfortunate couples like us, the special day memories cannot be re-captured. Being done in a more pleasing manner as many people have moved on. Luckily, we still have a wedding album even though it is seriously sub par.

Plan and Budget for Wedding Anniversary Remembrance

I believe that it is always much better to arrange expenditures in such a way that your photographer budget is a lot healthier. This will allow our captured memories to take us back to that absolutely special day like riding back in a time capsule.

Therefore, as you are planning your wedding see yourself 20 years from now. And then think when we are older and cannot remember all those details. Choose now to have a reputable photographer for your wedding and regret nothing later.
