Equipment for Better Wedding Photos
See if it’s possible to have the DJ’s PA system concealed or partly concealed, large speakers never add to our photo aesthetics. We often find that the DJ could easily have moved the speakers to the side without any ill effect to the DJ, but improve our photos and perhaps a better sound for everyone.
Microphones for Better Wedding Photos
See that the venue or DJ can supply lapel microphones, you don’t want the ceremony shots of the two of you looking more like a microphone advertisement than an actual wedding.
If you do have to use a full-size microphone, make sure it’s under the chins rather than blocking your faces. Request the DJ to position the microphone stand in an pleasing manner.

Tables:
Beware of tall items (flowers, vases etc.) especially for the main table!. Make sure we can get those little moments without being thwarted by various obstructions. Thin vases or thin column flower arrangements work very well due to them being less obstructive. Your guests will also appreciate being able to talk to each other without having to peer around a mid-table monstrosity too.
Cake:
Think about the background when placing it, taking into consideration obstacles like fire extinguishers, etc. as these detract from the beauty of your cake.
Cake Knife:
Be sure to arrange a great cake knife, venues are not always prepared for this, often ending up with a horrible bread knife in the photo!
Getting ready for Better Wedding Photos
If your dress has buttons be sure to bring a crochet hook, it assists doing up the buttons up a lot simpler. Brides have been late in walking down the aisle due to a button issue.
Rescue remedy! We are not sure why this is even been suggested, since we don’t think we have ever heard “we should have brought Rescue Remedy” it always just seems to be there anyway!.
Music!!! Bring a Bluetooth speaker, this helps during those quiet moments when you develop more nerves.
Tissues, a simple item but always extremely useful!.
Needle and thread with both white and black thread, quick clips often come off dresses and groom’s buttons fall off.
Be totally ready for at least 30 minutes before leaving for the ceremony so that you can do a few bridal portraits, makeup photos as your perfect now.

If you have bridesmaids / flower girls let them walk all the way down the aisle before you start coming down, that way they are not going to obstruct any of our photos of you and your escort.
Take your time coming down the aisle, this give’s us lots of opportunity for that great photo.
Rings:
Please take your time to put on the rings as this gives us time to get the best angle to get an amazing photo.
Both of you:
A long soft light kiss looks much better on camera than “lips locked”, this also gives us time to get that amazing photo.
Formals:
Make a list and give it to an commanding bridesmaid or groomsman. This assists in getting everyone together for the photos having the next group ready before the current group’s photos are done. The more smoothly the formal photos can run the quicker everyone can relax.
Don’t go heavily crazy with the formal’s list. The most important photos are of the two of you at the end of the day. You don’t want to waste time thinking of many combinations that are unlikely to ever be printed, viewed or let alone framed.
Give us between 20-30 minutes to get all the formal pictures done.
Couples’ photoshoot for Better Wedding Photos
You have spent huge time looking for us, let us be amazing!. Give us at least one hour with the two of you. We all don’t like to keep the guests waiting but this is something you do once and your photos will be all that’s left.
Bring a pair of comfortable slip-on shoes, you don’t want to ruin those really expensive shoes while walking through a vineyard / field. You also don’t require a blister or two either.
Have someone arrange a picnic basket with a few snacks and cool drinks. You need to be comfortable!.
HAVE FUN!!!
If you have fun with each other the photos of the two will be fabulous!. We seldom look better than when we are smiling and having a great time.

The Groom walks in first, but only if you have to walk single file between tables. If you don’t, you’ll find yourself stepping on your beautiful wife’s amazing dress. Besides you should be guiding her in to show her off anyway!.
The First Dance, Cake Cutting, Garter and Bouquet:
Make sure you inform us well in advance!. We like to set up a few lights to create a great mood and gives you amazing photos.
First Dance:
Dance the entire song before inviting your family, give us as much time to get as many great photos as possible. Check that the DJ will do this. It’s usually common that the DJ invites everyone else on 30 seconds into the dance. Please inform / request him to let you do the entire song before inviting others onto the dance floor.
Garter and Bouquet:
Again, depending on us to give them enough notification for he / she to prepare. The photos will count for much more in the end.
Please don’t put the photographers table in another room. He / she needs to observe what’s going at all times, any decent photographer will always be observant and alert.
